What to Expect
Tsavo East National Park: Known for its vast open spaces and large herds of elephants, Tsavo East is Kenya’s largest national park. Visitors can expect to see lions, leopards, buffalo, and a wide variety of birdlife. The park is also famous for its red-dust elephants, which roll in the iron-oxide soil. The Aruba Dam on the Voi River is a popular spot for wildlife viewing.
Day 1 - Diani Beach / Mombasa – Tsavo East National Park – Afternoon Game Drive
Pick-up from your hotel or residence in Diani Beach, Mombasa, or Ukunda early in the morning (around 6:00 AM). Begin your scenic drive in a comfortable 4x4 pop-up roof safari vehicle, heading toward the Bachuma Gate of Tsavo East National Park, one of Kenya’s largest and most diverse wildlife reserves. Upon entering the park, enjoy your first game drive en route to the lodge. Spot herds of red elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, and a variety of antelopes along the way.
Arrive at the beautiful Voi Safari Lodge in time for lunch. Check-in and relax while enjoying the lodge’s panoramic views of the park’s wildlife waterhole. In the afternoon, embark on another game drive, exploring different areas of the park. Your professional guide will help you track animals and share insights about Tsavo’s ecosystem. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
