What to Expect
Tsavo East National Park: Known for its vast open spaces and large herds of elephants, Tsavo East is Kenya’s largest national park. Visitors can expect to see lions, leopards, buffalo, and a wide variety of birdlife. The park is also famous for its red-dust elephants, which roll in the iron-oxide soil. The Aruba Dam on the Voi River is a popular spot for wildlife viewing.
Day 1 - Mombasa Diani – Saltlick
Pick up from your hotel at around 6.00 am driving along Mombasa- Nairobi highway. Drive to taita hills game sanctuary with a short break on the way. Arrive to Taita hills with a game drive en-route to Saltlick Safari Lodge for check in & Lunch. After lunch proceed with a game drive till 6.30 pm where you will drive back to Saltlick Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight. Taita Hills wild life sanctuary covers an area of 24,000 Ha. Physical attractions include thorny bushes, acacia forests, arid and savannah, swamp and Taita hills among others. Animals found here include elephants, lions, cheetah, zebras, giraffes, different types of birds like (ostriches, hornbills, guinea fowls, king fishers, weaver birds etc).
